Manifesto
One of the original of the new wave of coffee shops sweeping Mérida. The original location is just a few blocks form the central plaza. Lovely interior with plenty of space to work or relax. The coffee sets a high bar and is always excellent. The pastries are delicious too. Service is pretty good and the place always seems to be well staffed. A bit pricey but given the location and quality that is to be expected.
The second location is in the trendy Colonia Mexico a bit north of the centre of Mérida. The coffee is excellent (except for cappuccinos which are bizarrely oversized at 12 & 16oz) and the service is generally first rate. The ambience is exceptional – the building is a converted stylish house – relaxed and quiet – perfect for reading or doing some laptop work. Prices are bit on the high side but it’s still worth visiting.
